One year

Prepare yourself for some mush. Something we had to do when we defrosted a slice of our wedding cake on our anniversary. Needless to say, the cake did not hold up, which I hope is not some sort of symbolism of our marriage. I laugh.

Jay and I celebrated one year of marital bliss Sept. 26, 2010. What can I say? He is the best husband I’ve ever had. And most likely ever will. :)

Normally Jay and I have to call a truce of some sort when it comes to buying gifts for each other. We have a tendency to try to one up the other person (competitive, anyone?). For this special occasion, we decided to go skydiving (a priceless and pricey experience), and call it a day.

But of course, Jay didn’t stop with that. Instead, with the help of the most stealthy Mrs. Captain, he gave me a beautifully hand-decorated art piece featuring our wedding invitation, save-the-date and RSVP card.

He is the best, isn’t he? And if you’re wondering who the talented artist is, she is Melanie Kozak from Punxsutawney, Pa. She spent approx. 17 hours putting this bad boy together, and I can’t tell you how special and lovely it is. So special and lovely that Jay and I had it professionally framed, and it is now hanging proudly in our home.

If you’re still with me after all that, congrats! We’re almost to the end!

I decided to go full circle and return to the place where Jay proposed to take some photos. It’s no longer our private beach since we moved, but it’s still¬†beautiful.

  1. I love your wedding invitation art work! :) That’s such a beautiful gift from Jeremy for your 1 year anniversary. Kudos for Jeremy for such a brilliant gift giving idea! lol

The one time Craig surprised me was my 30th B-day gift with Rock Band II, singstar game and microphone, and a Farmville gift card!
I’ll never forget that, twas the best surprise yet! That, and having my bridal shower kept as a surprise from me from my co-workers at Macy’s, thanks to Craig being able to keep a secret. Something, I still need to learn how to do. I love your phoblography site. I shall keep track of your entries.

    Lots of love!

Your one and only older sister,

PS. I am trying to create a Shutterfly website so I can post all of my wedding pictures on here so that I may get 30 free prints.

I already got a coupon code in my e-mail which I used to get a free 7×9 photo book that holds 20 pages of collaged pictures. I just paid $5.95 for shipping and handling. I sent you an e-mail for the free coupon code if you want to do the same thing. It’s a $15.99 value, for $5.95! Here’s the coupon code in case you don’t check your e-mail: Promo code: GT58-4G2U-3ZC2-KKY4Z7
Offer ends December 6, 2010 at . Just make sure you select the 7×9 book, it’s pretty easy to set up.

Your pictures are gorgeous! I envy you for knowing how to use that Lightbox software for enhancing your pictures! I wish I was computer savvy enough to learn how to make my pictures look as good as yours. Otherwise, I hope you and Jeremy had a terrific Halloween!
