A day in the life of Abby Pie

Abby turned 9 months old Aug. 19, and to celebrate, us girls went to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Va. Perfect girls’ day out. :) Here are some of my favorite photos from our day together.

By the Japanese Gardens.

They even had a waterpark for kiddos. Keary and I both wished we had brought our swimsuits so we could take a dive.

Inspecting the rose gardens.

Happy girl!

Tuckered out!

Bath time is so much fun.

Mommy and daughter.

Love you Pies! xoxo

  1. No matter what subject you explore with your camera you seem to capture beauty from every angle. Thanks for all the pictures of Keary and Abby!

Love your photography! As a fellow photo lover I am in love with how you present your photos too on this blog. I have 2 questions for you….how do you organize the photos to look like that in your posts? Also, how did you do your watermark on the photos? -Jackie

    • Jackie, thank you for the compliment! The software that I use (Adobe Photoshop Lightroom) allows me to layout photos the way I like them and then save them as files. The software also lets me watermark my images. I think that many of the photo editing softwares on the market are offering these capabilities. Hope that helps!

Thanks! What is the difference between Photoshop Elements and Lightroom? Do you have Elements too?

    • Jackie, to be honest, I’m not sure what the difference is between the two programs. I don’t have Elements, and I chose Lightroom because you can edit a batch of photos at a time and easily organize them.

  4. Your photos and page layout are fantastic. These precious moments look effortless. I’m curious: To photograph the baby, did you have to be unobtrusive with your camera? Or did she hardly notice?

    • Hi, Kiali, thank you for the compliment! For these photos, I was using a 35mm lens, which equates to a 53mm lens on my camera. I had to get fairly close for some of these shots, but to be honest, she hardly noticed because there was something else that grabbed her attention. Thanks for stopping by!
