There’s no denying it: baseball is in my husband’s blood.
Since I couldn’t beat it, I joined it and bought us Baltimore Orioles tickets last year as a birthday present. Unfortunately for us, Hurricane Irene hit the day before the game, and we were forced to take a rain check. Fast forward nine months later – we’ve finally used our tickets. Here are some of my favorite snapshots from this past weekend at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Saturday was perfect for exploring and being outside.
The National Aquarium at Inner Harbor.
Time for some baseball. The Orioles took on the Tampa Bay Rays.
Oriole Park is very unique in the fact that the old B&O Warehouse runs along the right field fence.

The Orioles beat out the Rays 5-3. Thanks for a lovely time, Camden Yards! What’s remaining on the baseball bucket list: Wrigley Field and Fenway Park. (Clarification: this is my husband’s list, not mine.)

Congrats on being “Freshly Pressed”. I love baseball, I am just of a different denomination. I believe the pitcher needs to step into the batters box and face what he offers! Thus I prefer to worship at Citi Field and its predecessor, Shea Stadium. But Camden Yards is wonderful and your eye has captured it beautifully. I will suffer the DH to catch a game in Baltimore.

Loved this, as Baltimore is my home. Oriole Park is a great place to watch a game and the inner harbor and downtown area are beautiful as well. Glad you enjoyed yourself!

Love the pictures! I haven’t made it to any stadiums on the east coast yet, but have them on my list. Well…I have every stadium on my list. I’m a HUGE Cubs fan, but live in SoCal, so when I got a chance a few years ago to fly out to a game I jumped at it. That park is amazing.
I love that they are building the new parks downtown, with a lot of character. A lot of the younger generations doesn’t know that baseball wasn’t born out in the open and in the fields, but right in the cities. That is where it belongs. Camden Yards looks to be an exceptional park, certainly doing its part to carry on that tradition. Hope you had an amazing time, it sure looks like you did!!!

Baltimore is such a great city and Camden Yards is really cool. We live in Memphis and our triple! stadium is a replica of it. I like your evening shots!

My dad has a passion for baseball that is beyond my grasp. When I was a kid he would take me to Camden Yards to watch the Orioles with him, I suppose the idea was that we would bond or something. I would take a book with me and engross myself in it among the roaring crowd while I sat next to him, and then he would tap my shoulder and let me know when the game was over at the end of evening.

Love the pics. There’s nothing like the buzz of a big game at a unique setting. I only get to watch MLB from afar (NZ) but I know I’ve got to make it to the States at some stage to watch a game at one of these grand old grounds. It might just have to be Camden Yards!

ok. didn’t know you were in a car. sorry. i’ve been down there a few times but made the mistake of going to a restaurant for dinner before the game. too much good food at the game that i missed. i love the meat slicers on automatic out in the outfield area. i have friends who used to live in a condo close enough to the stadium that they’d leave their windows open and wait to hear the national anthem. once the song started, then they’d leave their place and get to their seats about a minute before the first pitch.

I’ve done the same sort of thing – traveling from park to park. Just curious have you been able to take DSLR cameras into the parks… and if so do you leave the lens on or what… i would love to get some better photos and not just with a point-and-shoot.

Let’s go O’s! First place, American League East! Beautiful pictures! Baltimore is my adopted town, and has been for 25 years now. When I first lived here you could barely drive down 33rd street to Memorial Stadium on a game day because of the crowds. We all miss the stadium, but Camden Yards is so beautiful. Great food and good beer.

I have always heard how beautiful that ball park is. These photos are awesome and just prove that what I have heard is true. I live in Texas and have been to the two ball parks here and they are both nice, but I would like to experience all of them some day. I do radio Play-by-Play and hope to call games from all the different MLB parks one day. There is nothing more beautiful than a big league ball park! Thanks for the photos.

Thanks for sharing the gorgeous photos and congrats on being Freshly Pressed for the third time. Impressive! Camden Yards is my husband’s idea of Mecca…he grew up in DC, and although his parents abandoned the O’s for the Nats a few years ago, he’s still a devout Birds fan. I’m a huge BRaves fan myself but I’m so proud of how the O’s are doing this year. I’d love to get to a game with my husband but as we live up here in Red Sox nation it might be a while before that happens.
