Food spotlight: VIN 909 Winecafé

I am a big lover of food; that’s no secret. So when Jay and I were in Annapolis, Md., recently, I suggested that we check out VIN 909 Winecafé. The place certainly has some bragging rights — rated #1 restaurant in Annapolis according to TripAdvisor and made Washingtonian’s top 100 list. And guess what the best part is? Completely affordable! The only thing I was upset about was why didn’t we check this place out sooner?!

Vin2They don’t take reservations, but they do have call-ahead seating, which is what we did. We called when we were 20 minutes away, and they sat us as soon as we arrived.

Vin1I love that it’s a farm-to-table restaurant, where many items on the menu are locally sourced from organic farms. Jay ordered a Full Sail Brewing Session Lager and the Wild boar meatball sandwich.

Vin3Seriously, one of the best pizzas we’ve had. I ordered the pizza of the day, which included lamb, bacon and arugula.

1302_Vin_005Here’s what’s left of it. I can’t even describe how good it was. Pudding has graduated to a whole other level for me.
