Daisy | one!

Babies = wonderful. And having friends with babies around the same age is equally wonderful. Please meet Miss Daisy Anne, a dear friend of Quentin’s. Daisy recently turned one, which in case you didn’t know, is a great occasion to take some photos. A few of my favorites of this sweet gal… Isn’t she the cutest??

Family slice of life

Gratitude. That is what I feel for my friend Amanda who saw me through the hard days of fresh motherhood. Her gentle wisdom helped boost my confidence during a time when I was unsure of everything. And so it seems a little unfair that I’ll have to say goodbye to her as she and her family are moving away soon. But before that happens, we got together, and I snapped some photos of them in their beautiful home. Here are a few of my favorites… Cheers to friends, exciting new beginnings and supporting one another. You will be missed around here! love, Jen

Bringing baby home

I carried my baby for 40 weeks and a day before I met him. Prior to meeting him, I didn’t know much about him except that he was a boy and he enjoyed kicking me when I laid down for bed. My husband and I didn’t even know what he was going to look like; the 3D ultrasound machine was down at our 20-week appointment. Well all that changed on a sunny Wednesday morning. After a whole day of early labor and an evening of active labor, my midwife asked me to push at 7 a.m. on Dec. 18. Our baby wasn’t ready to meet us then, so we gave him extra time to get with the program. At around 10 a.m., we gave it another go, and at exactly 10:41 a.m., we met each other for the first time. “Hi baby, I’m your mama.” This is what I squeaked out through the tears as I held him. I kept looking at my husband who was by my side and asked him, “can you believe it??” …

Baby Jude

Can I please order a side of cuteness? Baby Jude coming right up. Jude is my cousin’s son, and I got to meet him (as well his momma!) for the first time during my visit to Pittsburgh last weekend. What a sweet (and sometimes slobbery) baby. He even gave me a big wet kiss when I had to say goodbye. I’m sold. Here are some of my favorite photos from the quick photo shoot that we had. Enjoy!

A day in the life of Abby Pie

Abby turned 9 months old Aug. 19, and to celebrate, us girls went to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Va. Perfect girls’ day out. :) Here are some of my favorite photos from our day together. By the Japanese Gardens. They even had a waterpark for kiddos. Keary and I both wished we had brought our swimsuits so we could take a dive. Inspecting the rose gardens. Happy girl! Tuckered out! Bath time is so much fun. Mommy and daughter. Love you Pies! xoxo
